Mapping Consciousness Frontiers
We study what it means to feel, suffer, and heal, combining psychedelic-assisted research, neuroscience, and ethical AI to unlock new pathways for those living with the conditions conventional medicine has yet to solve.

Bridging Consciousness Research and Ethical AI, For the Benefit of Humankind
We exist to study what makes us feel, heal, and thrive, and to build the scientific and technological frameworks that protect that humanity as artificial intelligence advances.

Our mission is to understand human consciousness deeply enough to preserve and elevate it.
Four Pillars of Consciousness Research

We use AI to capture and visualize the felt quality of human experience, valence, intensity, arousal, and cross-modal sensation, before, during, and after therapeutic interventions. Drawing on the Symmetry Theory of Valence and proprietary protocols, we translate subjective inner states into reproducible, analyzable data.

We design and administer rigorously structured psychedelic therapy protocols, developed through Changa Institute's decade of clinical training, to study their effects on PTSD, OCD, depression, and eating disorders under state-regulated frameworks in Oregon and Colorado.

We track real-time brain activity and neurological change across therapeutic sessions, building longitudinal datasets that reveal how consciousness reorganizes itself through healing, and what that means for mental health treatment at scale.

We develop AI safety frameworks grounded in an understanding of human consciousness and wellbeing, not just capability and efficiency. As AI systems grow more powerful, the science of feeling must be embedded in their design.
We are actively pursuing technology partnerships with research institutions to co-fund infrastructure, extending the impact of every philanthropic dollar.

State-Regulated Psilocybin-Assisted Therapy for Veterans with PTSD
First-of-Its-Kind
In partnership with licensed programs in Oregon and Colorado, this study will deliver two structured psilocybin sessions to 30 veterans diagnosed with PTSD, directly confronting a national crisis in which more than 44 U.S. veterans die by suicide each day.
AI-Driven Protocol
Using Changa Institute’s proprietary protocol, participants receive continuous AI-driven emotional and brain monitoring, while outcomes from state-regulated care are rigorously compared to clinical trial data to assess real-world efficacy.
Cutting-Edge Care for Veterans
Veterans receive free access to advanced psychedelic-assisted therapy, while the resulting dataset is structured to inform state and federal policymakers, potentially accelerating broader legalization and reshaping the future of mental health treatment nationwide.
Fund the study that could rewrite how America treats its veterans, and reshape the future of mental health care.

Our cutting-edge research protocols and AI-powered technology are designed to bring humanity closer to that frontier, measuring, mapping, and unlocking the conditions for lasting psychological healing.

The projected global cost of mental health conditions by 2030, a crisis that touches 1 in 5 adults alive today. The researchers who map the solution now will define the next century of human care.
Changa Research Lab exists because the tools to study that frontier, AI, neuroscience, and psychedelic research, have finally matured enough to meet the scale of the problem. And because no one has brought them together with the rigor, the ethics, and the genuine care for humanity this moment demands.

Everything you need to know
CIRC is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit research lab founded in 2025 at the intersection of consciousness science and transformative technology. We use AI, neuroscience, and state-regulated psilocybin frameworks to develop replicable, evidence-based treatments for PTSD, depression, and OCD, and to generate the federal evidence base needed to make these treatments universally accessible.
CIRC was founded by the team behind Changa Institute, the organization that built the nation's first government-approved psilocybin facilitator training program in U.S. history. Our scientific advisory team includes experts in clinical psychology, neuroscience, and artificial intelligence. We operate within Oregon and Colorado's state-regulated frameworks and are actively involved in shaping psilocybin policy in New Mexico.
Every landmark psilocybin trial to date, Johns Hopkins, NYU, Imperial College London, was conducted in controlled clinical settings. CIRC is the only institution embedded within real-world, state-regulated therapeutic programs from their inception. We are generating the first systematic comparison of real-world outcomes against existing clinical data, the evidence that policy requires, not just what the lab can prove.
Yes. Changa Institute Research Center is a registered 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization. All contributions are fully tax-deductible to the extent permitted by law. You will receive a formal acknowledgment letter for your records upon donation.
Every dollar funds three priorities: participant care for the 30 veterans in our current study, research staff and operational infrastructure across a two-year study period, and data analysis and peer-reviewed publication. CIRC is actively pursuing technology partnerships to co-fund infrastructure costs, maximizing the direct impact of every philanthropic dollar.
